Who’d have thought, that standing on a balcony, melting in the midnight slump of air, watching the trees dance on the heavy night sky, that I would love you? Who’d have thought, that driving smooth, stars on the windows, sticky seats, and hot hearts, that i would love you? Who could have imagined, that walking steady, speaking wildly, hearing crickets play their sweet summer song, that I would fall for your song? I see these things, swaying trees, pressing breezes, smooth driving, bright stars, heavy talks on long quiet walks. And I remember. I remember what made me love you, more, what made me see you. And I don’t forget.

In the dim orange glow of the street lights, there sat on the sidewalk a pondering girl.  Rain slipping down her brow to her open palms, ending in a short fall at the ground below.
